Hans Vandevoorde is assistant professor of Dutch literature at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and volunteer researcher at the Department of History at UGent. He publishes on literature and culture of the nineteenth and twentieth century and on contemporary poetry. He is the chief editor of Cahier voor Literatuurwetenschap and coordinates the Alliance research group SEL (Studiecentrum voor Experimentele Literatuur) together with Lars Bernaerts & Bart Vervaeck. He supervises dissertations on the reception of surrealism in Flemish poetry of the sixties, on irony in the work of Harry Mulisch and on documentary literature. His research interests comprise the reception of foreign literature in translation and cultural transfer (histoire croisée).
