Gaëtan Regniers is an FWO Fundamental Research Fellow at the department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication (Ghent University) where he is affiliated to the TRACE research group. He obtained a master’s degree in History (major in Late Modern History) and a master’s degree in Eastern European Languages and Cultures (Russian and Polish).
His PhD research under the supervision of prof. dr. Piet Van Poucke (member of CLIV) and prof. dr. Marianne Van Remoortel (department of Literary Studies) focuses on translations published in newspapers, the so-called feuilletons: novels and stories published in installments. The project ‘To be continued…’ explores the instrumental use of Dutch newspaper translations of Russian literature between 1840 and 1970.
